My First Activity was in The Philippines

Museums everywhere have been founded, expanded, and sustained through art and monetary donation or bequests. such is the story of the Ateneo Art Gallery, a University art museum established in 1960 after Fernando Zobel donated his collection of ost-war Philippine modernist works to the Atteneo de Manila University where he taught art history. By the late 1950s, he had decided to settle in Spain but opted to leave behind the colection of works by young Filipino artists he knew - some of them peers who he admires. Zobel purchased most of these works from the Philippine Art Galery, on of the few steadfast institution in the post-war art scene of Manila. Know as an avid printmater, Zobel also donated a collection of fine prints by internasional and local artists - a selection printmakers today still consider as among the best in the country.
